Toyota Prius supplies increasing faster than anticipated

Toyota Prius supplies are increasing faster than expected and should back to 70 percent of normal levels by June.

Supply and demand issues will still last for many months

Back to 70 percent of normal levels by June

If you’ve been out shopping for a Toyota Prius in recent weeks, you’ve probably been a little disappointed. There just isn’t much selection, if any at all, and dealers simply aren’t willing to negotiate. Fortunately, this problem is being resolved quicker than expected.

Nevertheless, it will still take many months for Prius supplies to catch up to demand.

By June, Toyota should bring supplies back up to 60 – 70 percent of normal levels, or about 12,000 Prius hybrids per month – still well under demand. Unfortunately, many of these hybrid cars won’t last long as many Toyota dealerships already have waiting lists for these cars.

If all goes well, however, further increases in supplies could also be just around the corner.

Ultimately, this isn’t the greatest news for Prius buyers, but it is at least good news. Consequently, if you’re serious about buying a Toyota Prius, be ready to act fast, otherwise you might have to wait until Fall.
