Mitsubishi’s new world hybrid coming in 2012
Mitsubishi’s latest concept to debut in Geneva
This is a picture of Mitsubishi’s Concept Global Small set to debut at the Geneva Motor Show and ready for market in March 2012.
While it hasn’t yet been called a hybrid and details are still few, the Concept Global Small will utilize start/stop technology and regenerative braking. And since regenerative braking usually comes in cars with batteries, we’re assuming this is a hybrid.
According to Car&Driver the Concept Global Small is “designed to be compact, affordable and highly fuel efficient.” And aside from the hybrid components, the CGS will use either a 1.0-liter or 1.2-liter engine and “a body designed to reduce aerodynamic resistance.”
I know this isn’t a very American car, but in an ever more competitive auto market, these small global and efficient cars are probably going to dominate the future. With that in mind, I think this is actually a nice looking concept.
And if the Concept Global Small does end up a full hybrid, it should offer some pretty interesting fuel economy numbers – maybe even better than Toyota Prius numbers. If Mitsubishi can do that while remaining “affordable”, the Concept Global Small could be Mitsubishi’s biggest hit ever.

in my opinion, monex, the design of CGS stands out in this segment, especially for a mitsubishi.
Among the many vehicles that are already on sale Mitsubishi will also be bringing the Concept Global Small show model . This concept car is really no different than all of the other small cars coming out as its main goal is to be compact affordable and highly fuel efficient. The Concept Global Small is a preview version of a new model that will go into production starting March 2012 at the MMCs third factory in Thailand.
