Honda hybrid supplies limited through the summer
Shortage of parts could last until end of the year
According to MSNBC Honda’s hybrid production will be extremely limited until some time later this year. Consequently, dealers will find it hard to refill their supplies of the Civic, Insight and CR-Z hybrid vehicles.
Additionally, other fuel efficient models will also be limited.
Unfortunately, that means as gas prices rise above $4.00, fuel economy-focused car buyers could have few options this summer. Already there have been reports that supplies of the Toyota Prius are already running short at some dealerships. Additionally, many other hybrid cars are reliant upon key supplies from Japan.
Anyway, stay tuned. Over the next weeks and months Hybridcarblog will be visiting dealerships to monitor the hybrid supply situation from ground zero.

Hopefully we do. Would like to see some kind of incentive for US automakers to focus more on this, especially in the interim. I know GM and Ford have hybrid plans, but they still seem fairly bearish overall, unless gas prices force their hand. Some small incentives could keep this moving forward, even if gas prices recede.
In addition to foreign oil dependence, we have foreign hybrid dependence.
We can do something about the second one though……
Here comes price gouging.
