Cheap insurance? Not for hybrids
Cheap insurance, except for the hybrid version
Cost of ownership. That’s a topic regularly cited when discussing the purchase of hybrid cars, and one significant cost of auto ownership is certainly insurance.
Unfortunately, the latest evidence suggests that it is cheaper to insure non-hybrids.
According to Insure.com, not one hybrid is a Top Ten Car or SUV when it comes to cheap insurance, although non-hybrid versions of the Ford Fusion and the Mazda Tribute do make the list.
In recent years a number of insurance companies have advertised special discounts for hybrid owners, I guess that’s more marketing shenanigans than reality?
