An extra $2000 to charge Chevy Volt in 4 hours

It could take upt to 10 hours to fully charge a Chevy Volt, however, if you upgrade to a 240 charger, the Volt can be charged in as little as 4 hours.

Fully charged in 4 hours, but the price is a little shocking

Almost ready for delivery

It’ll take about 10 hours to fully charge a Chevy Volt, but a new home charging unit can decrease that time to about 4 hours.

Unfortunately, the SPX Service Solutions charger costs $490, while installation will cost about $1475, or “more depending on the home’s existing electric infrastructure” according to MotorTrend.

$2000 seems a little expensive. Then again, $41,000 for a Volt seems a little expensive. So, I guess if you can justify a Volt purchase, a quick charge option also seems justifiable, especially after a sweet $7500 plug-in tax credit – not to mention state incentives.

Add a few solar panels, some smart technology and quite an electrifying statement can be made. I can see the ‘This Volt powered by the Sun’ stickers already.
