A must use tool for serious hybrid car shoppers
The best hybrid deals usually require buyers to work with the best dealers
Everyone once in a while the people over at Carwoo! send me a story on car buying trends. Often the stories are quite interesting, but usually they aren’t very relevant to the hybrid and plug-in space.
Anyway, a recent story picqued my interest enough that I finally checked out Carwoo! in more detail, and a lot my dealership experiences — many bad — suddenly made much more sense.
Most car buyers, I’d bet, have had a few negative car buying experiences. Sometimes the salespeople are just rude, or aggressive. Perhaps it was the finance or service departments that soured the car buyer / dealership relationship.
But the truth is, while many dealerships are truly bad, others offer a much better experience, and that’s where Carwoo’s dealership ratings become a helpful tool.
Having visited many dealerships in my area over the years, I wasn’t suprised at the names of the best and worst dealerships near my zip code. My experiences mostly validated Carwoo’s results — generated by actual car shoppers.
Conventional car shoppers; however, often just visit the dealerships closest to their home, or their job, and that can be a huge mistake, especially for hybrid car buyers. Most that buy a hybrid or plug-in stick with dealership servicing, for example. As time goes on and warranties expire, this could become a a costly mistake if your dealer is an unscrupulous one. Bad service departments can squeeze hundreds, or even thousands, of dollars out of consumers with unnecessary services and repairs.
And of course, there’s always the deal and the ability of dealerships to turn what seems to be a bargain into a huge financial mistake.
Certainly, dealerships are in business to make money, but there is no doubt that some dealerships are much more fair and honest about the way they make money, while others lie and cheat their way to the biggest profits possible. And that’s where using Carwoo! can help.
