Prius recall now official

Third generation Toyota Prius recalled for software update to braking system. In need of a software tweak

Toyota has acknowledged that the third generation Prius needs a software update to prevent a braking lag that can occur on bumpy or slippery surfaces. According to Toyota, the lag lasts for less than a second, but the brakes will work as long as the driver keeps pushing down on the brake pedal.

Toyota has already made the software update to all new Prius hybrids being sold.

Finally some good news for the brake lag. I hope they stop bashing toyota for all the recalls.

I don't think Toyota is going to catch any 'brakes' any time soon.

Michigan Democrats, such as John Dingell, are going to get everything they can out of this.

Sure this is being over-sensationalized, but Toyota did a very poor job of managing these recall issues, and more sensationalism seems inevitable.

Toyota made a mistake when they failed to honestly deal with the issue - up front IMO.

I think this was the under-current that was going on during the other recall.

I suspect Toyota was trying to "protect" their reputation but like Tiger Woods.. they ..way, way, misunderstood the dimensions of the publicity.

So.. they are really good at making cars and really, really bad at dealing with "oops" issues involving the public.

geeze... if they HAD to be BAD at SOMETHING.. I guess if someone pushed me hard.. I'd rather have them be good at cars and bad at publicity.

the "devious" word is in play and has gone viral.

heh heh

You can COUNT on Ford and GM to make hay here big time....

I think you are absolutely right, Larry.

And I don't mind GM and Ford trying to make hay. Its the politicians making hay that particularly bug me.

Its there job, I know, but it still bugs me.
