$25,000 for a Honda CR-Z hybrid?
On sale now in JapanThe Honda CR-Z hybrid is now on sale in Japan and will make its way to the US and Europe this summer or a little thereafter. Based on Japanese pricing, the CR-Z hybrid should retail for $25,340, while offering Honda fatter profit margins than both the Honda Insight hybrid and the Honda Fit.
$25,000 seems a bit steep for the CR-Z hybrid; however, Honda only intends to sell about 50,000 of them per year worldwide. Nonetheless, as I blogged in Is the Honda CR-Z being underestimated, I am looking forward to taking the manual 6-speed CR-Z option for a spin.

Typical Honda overpricing....and of course there will be a stream of idiots knocking on the dealer's steps asking for it.
Honda's pricing and packaging structure is the worst in the business. They cheapen and dumb-down their products in a way that makes no hiding the fact that they are cheap when it comes to offering people options that otherwise would be standard in other cars.
Let's see how it pans out but if this is the pricing for this car, forget it.
Honda only plans to sell 50,000 per year worldwide. Considering that the Insight more than doubles that sale's expectation, I think Honda will achieve their goals.
Of course, looking at the larger picture, an additional 50,000 Honda hybrids on the road per year is relatively meaningless.
The latest version of Honda CR-Z is already amongst the all time great sports car of the times with the green feature!! It’s having great environmental features along with the efficient and energetic engine that boosts the average of the car and produces the best fuel efficiencies. Also Honda is one of the leading sports car producers and the additional point of the company is that they give the regular cars with the attitude of sports car!! So, CR-Z is the fabulous and fantastic sports car produced by Honda in recent years!!

I'm not following, Charlie.
Don't get me wrong. I think the manual transmission option of the CR-Z hybrid will be a hit, at least a niche hit.
Still, are Honda hybrids forever some irrelevant niche until fuels cells are fully mass marketable?
I understand that Honda is consistently the most fuel efficient fleet automaker in the US, but let's take it to the next level already.

I think the CR-Z is actually cool. Now, the 150 HP version should have been the initial model, not the 120 HP version.
Here we go again, Harley Davidson game when it comes to price, and quanity.
i like it as well, but 50,000 sales per year, worldwide? just not much meat on that bone.
