Re: Safest hybrid cars
Coulda been a contender? In last week's safest hybrid vehicles post I took a shot at Toyota's goose egg.
Turns out that Toyota didn't have any of its hybrid cars tested, nor many of its regular vehicles. The IIHS only tested the Camry, Yaris and Rav4, as Toyota decided that providing more vehicles - at the manufacturer's expense - wasn't a justifiable expense in this economy.

Good heavens a responsible car company. Has Toyota ever considered having all their executives run for seats in our Congress? I mean our current batch can't seem to find ways to pay off a $12 trillion dollar debt. Maybe Toyota can figure it out LOL.
well, some might counter that perhaps toyota was afraid to have their cars tested. i wouldn't, but others might.
still, cutting spending when you're losing money probably is a fairly wise idea that Congress probably should consider.
anybody that has ever experienced serious credit card debt knows that its almost impossible to spend your way out of doubt.
it's kind of funny. supposedly deregulation in the financial markets caused all our problems. while i find that rationale a little simplistic, it's ironic that we're spending more money than ever, yet we've still not really addressed the regulatory issues to prevent such another collapse.
i guess we're going to spend our way into a solution for that problem as well?
