Surprise? Hybrids top gov's fuel economy guide
Easily the most fuel efficient vehicle sold in the USYesterday the government released its 2010 Fuel Economy Guide and, once again, hybrid cars dominated the list, led by the Toyota Prius.

I could not help but notice that on the most efficient cars by class - not a single US car is on that list:

I'd say that if FORD and GM want to rehabilitate their image on fuel efficiency that they spend less money on slightly dishonest commercials and more money to figure our how they can get at least some of their cars on this list.
that would be a strategic goal...

that's pretty much the argument i made in yesterday's shock and awe post.
Did I miss something when I reviewed the fuel economy ratings? I didn't see the Ford Fusion.
Just to clarify, I meant the Fusion Hybrid.

Yes, Dahc, this is strange, how come that Elantra with something around 28/34 mpg on average beats hybrid camry with 34/33 mpg? Do they compare highway efficiency only?
i haven't read through the whole report yet to see what all the criteria were yet, but it definitely seems odd to me.
