Considering that the Prius is easily the most fuel efficient mass-produced vehicle sold in America, I guess the award isn't too much of a surprise.

I think Prius owners come from a specific tax bracket. It is somewhat ironic to hear about people earning a few hundred grand each year, who go out to buy a Prius to use the excuse, it will help me save money on gasoline
