interesting data. I see the primary winners are American Pickups and Foreign econoboxes with the exception of the Chevy Impala.

Does anyone know what the Impala is in the top 10?

I'm clueless... but I would think of all the cars that Chevy does offer that this car would not be on this list.

thoughts? ideas?

i've never driven, or been in, and Impala, so I don't have much to say about it.

Prius sales hold steady after Cash for Clunkers expires but US auto sales plummet

Hmmmm.....

If you build it, people will buy it.

smurf-

well, i've picked up a few more stats since then.

prius sales were down compared to both last year and the previous month in September, despite the 11th place post.

of course, there is a lot of confusing data in the mix right now.

overall, however, hybrids lost significant marketshare in September according to the latest numbers.

next month should provide some really interesting data and help determine what the trend is here.

I didn't rent an Impala as it turns out.

I ended up with a Mercury Sable.

The Sable (Taurus equivalent) is a nice vehicle. Stylish, roomy, comfortable, and a large trunk. In addition the car has a lot of power.

The only real negative I see is gas mileage (18 city/28 hwy) and even that is not bad compared to similar vehicles.....
