Honda CR-Z will offer "unique value"

Will the CR-Z hybrid be Honda's hottest selling hybrid car?The CR-Z at the LA Auto Show

When the Honda CR-Z hybrid goes on sale in the Fall of 2010, it will "break new ground as a sporty, hybrid coupe with unique value."

So, what does "unique value" mean? Can a two-seat sporty hybrid become Honda's top selling hybrid vehicle?

Well, if Honda doesn't start providing some real info on the CR-Z (price, amenities, fuel econdomy, etc.), it's going to miss the boat in my opinion. A car can only live on hyp for so long. Case in point, the Volt.

i agree. the pricing on this vehicle is critical.

what kind of pricing would you hope to see for this kind of hybrid?

I'm thinking it has to be low twenties if honda expects any kind of sales success.

I think it will launch in Februari 2010 in Japan.

Can't wait to see it!

yeah, the final version should debut at NAIAS and sell in Japan in Feb. 2010, followed by a Fall US release in the same year.

i've seen the current 'concept' at a few auto shows, so i don't think they'll shock me much with any final product changes.

it's the price i'm really waiting to learn more about.

I am also curious about the price. For example, I really like the specs on the Insight but I think the car is priced about $1,000 too high.

yeah, that is the key.

is it 'unique value' in terms of small sporty coupes? hybrids? what?

honda has been in the hybrid game a long time, yet they've still not really had a 'hit'.

that needs to change, especially considering Honda's new bullishness on hybrids. how bullish can you be on a technology that you can't seem to sell very well?

I think we're all waiting to see the price.

The price will determine if these vehicles will be a major player in the hybrid game or not....
