Suzuki Kizashi hybrid to hit US in 2011
Based on GM hybrid technologySuzuki will bring the Kizashi hybrid to North America in 2011, according to reports. The new Suzuki hybrid will be built on a "next generation" hybrid system developed with GM, which probably means that the Kizashi will utilize GM's upgraded BAS hybrid drive.
A non-hybrid version of the Kizashi is still on track to hit the US, the this year.

Am I the only one amazed at the backward logic of introducing Hybrids ???
First the manufacturers look for most exotic or most expensive model to put a hybrid train into, the market it from 38-100k !
What the public is wanting is a CHEAP 4 DOOR COMPACT dependable hybrid 'world car'..........
Will they ever listen ???
?
By 2011 Toyota is supposedly set to offer a Yaris-based hybrid for under $16,000. Honda has the Fit hybrid coming. So, I think those two automakers are listening.
For emerging technologies, it isn't uncommon to hit the luxury side first where early adopters don't mind paying a premium. This leads towards scalability and lower prices.
Still, after more than 10 years of hybrids on the market, I agree, if you're going to get into this space. Get real.
