Prius top 5 Clunker purchase

Cash for Clunkers still driving Toyota Prius sales. No production limitations?

The latest results on the Cash for Clunkers program are in and the Toyota Prius continues to move well. Currently, the Prius is the 5th most purchased vehicle under the program.

Only one vehicle made by the Big 3, the Ford Escape, made the top 10 list. According to GM, its Cobalt fell off the list due to production issues.

With a battery shortage inhibiting Prius production, it seems inevitable that a bottleneck in Prius supplies is inevitable.

The dealers are back to their usual BS...I went to see a Prius yesterday...

"We make no deals on the Prius...we've sold them all out...blah blah blah.."

You lost a customer buddy.

In Japan they are waiting 8 months to receive their Prius orders.

If you believe corporate Toyota, there is a battery shortage.

Today, rumors emerged that Toyota is looking outside of its current battery partnership because of production limitations.

So, i wouldn't expect to find a deal on a Prius for some some time. Sticker is the best deal you're going to have for at least 6 months to a year, if not longer.

Yeah if I were to buy a car today, I'd probably just get a Fit.

A lot of new things coming up in the next year or two. i wouldn't be in any rush. I'd shop for deals, but not before cash for clunkers expires. Then the market will slow a bit.

I think the market will drop off the cliff again after C4C...

A mere few months ago the bastards were starving to death.

it'll drop. we'll see how far. the economy is in a little better shape. the auto industry is a little more stable.

still, that's why its best to have patience right now. there will be a drop.
