GM's HUGE green move

Forget some new hybrid cars from GM. Just change the logo from blue to green and suddenly you're a green company.GM is America's new green company!

A week ago I asked Will the new GM be as pathetic as the new GMAC as I ripped on the dis-ingenuousness of GMAC's new marketing campaign. Also, in the last few weeks - probably the last few months - I have spent much time criticizing GM, largely for too much green marketing and too few green products.

Well, here I go again.

GM is now contemplating its next big move to change America's perception of the company, turning the GM logo from blue to green.

Amazing! Just slap a green logo on a 15 mpg gas guzzler and, suddenly, it's environmentally friendly. Of course, maybe GM is just trying to remind America of the tens of billions of greenbacks the government has sunk into the company.

i wish GM would survive as there are about 100k families connected to GM directly or indirectly (regretfully).
I agree you cant turn a pig into a race horse overnight but in year lets see.
Lord knows they have huge hurdles to overcome and frankly the least is a 40k Volt...and thats with every single man woman and child having already given about 150.oo out of your pocket in cash to GM via a bailout.
Green or blue no one really cars sorry to say. They will not be able to make a high mileage(40/50) quality hybrid for $20k or less in less than 2 full years and by then it wont matter :( the competition will have chewed them up like chum bait and moved way down the road:(.

totally agree.

ultimately, i'm just tired of all the talk, all the marketing, but the total lack of product to back up this talk.

just let the products and the facts do the talking for once.

and, while i realize that GM just doesn't have the product right now, then just be quiet for a little while.

talking the talk is easy, but at some point you have to walk the walk.

GM will probably just come back to Washington for another $25 billion or so six months from now. After all, begging seems to be easier for them than building high-quality, affordable cars.

I'm from the US. Why? You can't be critical of Government Motors if you're from the US?

I mean you gotta love a company that after 9/11, Iraq, and Katrina called hybrid cars stupid and launched a new line of their largest gas-guzzlers. That's sooooooo American.

What country are you from? Saudi Arabia? Is that why you like foreign oil soooo much?

BTW---

Once posts are several days old, they require approval because a bunch of sploggers from China leave comments unrelated to the post.
