75,000 Prius orders already in
New Prius already smoking hotAccording to reports Toyota has already received 75,000 orders for the new 2010 Toyota Prius even though it hasn't officially even gone on sale. Obviously, the king of hybrid cars has no interest in giving up its hybrid crown any time soon.

This is great. I hope Toyota doesn't fall behind in plugin technology (assuming GM and Chrysler-Fiat have any funding left for PHEVs).
Wow I am amazed that the public see this car in its true light! Its amazing in its technology and is a great option if you must have a new vehicle.
We all know even if there is NO demand for oil/gas it will still keep climbing up, bringing gas to 3.oo+/gall within a year or less....so hybrids make sense.
The 2010 is hot, but can you imagine how hot the 2011 PLUG IN, and LITHIUM ION Prius will be ????? wow :)
Well if Toyota could price a plug-in Prius just a few thousand more than a conventional Prius, the plug-in version would probably outsell the non-plug-in version.
It looks like People are getting carried away by the campaign that Prius is the best hybrid in the world. But look around and you could find better hybrid cars and electric cars. Take case of India's Reva Maini electric car. It is small, almost as much as a golf carts, but it can give great speed and zero emissions. I think Toyota should scale up the technology to meet the future so that Prius does not look inadequate for future generations.

The Reva wouldn't pass safety standards in the US or many parts of Europe, so how is that a contender to the Prius?
