Honda Insights being delivered

Honda Insights are now being delivered to dealerships. Have you done any Honda Insight hybrid shopping?A truckload of Insights

Here's a bunch of Honda Insights making their way through Indiana.

The Insight is hitting dealerships this week, and I'm very much looking forward to seeing how fast Honda is able to move these new hybrid cars.

Anybody out there gone Honda Insight shopping yet? (Thanks for the pic Brian)

Im waiting for the Hyundai Lithium polymer hybrid, two versions coming out they say in 4-8 months. It will be worth wait as it will be loaded with options as STANDARD, unlike the Insight (if you want even cruise control you will pay about 2400.oo for that 'option'!).
YOU TUBE real world video test drives shows in normal real world driving the Insight will average around 30MPG, unless your very light footed or most of your driving is city only! ouch
Ok its still an positive move by Honda to bring hybrid prices down...
but if you can wait 8 months to see at least 4 new as exciting hybrid models coming down the pike from toyota/ honda(hybrid FIT is coming with better mileage overall than the Insight and will cost LESS)/ Hyundai...they will surely have more standard options and get at least same mileage as Insight! Its worth the wait if you can.

the Hyundai lithium hybrid will not be in the US until at least 2010, probably closer to 2011 according to Hyundai lithium-polymer debut at the LA auto show. Likewise, we still have no idea yet of pricing.

morever, numerous independent tests put the mixed driving fuel economy of the Insight at about 40 mpg. certainly, some conditions could bring this mileage down, but your 30 mpg will not be the norm.

I saw one at Columbus Auto Show. Looks a lot like the Prius. No backup camera. The rear seats fold down, unlike the Civic hybrid. The battery is under the spare tire whereas in Civic hybrid, it was vertical between the trunk and rear seats, preventing them from folding down.

That's cool.

Still, I'm wondering about those that have gone out shopping for an Insight hybrid.

I'll probably check it out...but man....I can't get over the looks...it's one hideous looking car.

Dang, Noz, you really do hate the design of the Insight. I hope Honda can bring the Fit hybrid to market sooner than planned so I can redirect you to something less ugly - in your opinion.
