Honda's latest hybrid off to a great startMonthly goals met in first week

The new Honda Insight hybrid has only been on sale for little more than a week, yet Honda's newest hybrid has already achieved its monthly sales goal of 5,000 cars for the Japanese market.

The Insight hybrid goes on sale in April for the US market. Currently, it's price in Japan would translate to about $21,000.

I cant belive that honda said the insight is going to be $18,500 then they said its going to be 19,000 and then it was getting closer to 20,000 and now its 21,000 WTF!!!! I was waiting to get the car for under 20,000 for 6 months now but now i cant even get the one hybrid that i was going to be able to afford. Damn american dollar and F***ing Yen!!! Well i still have hope that it will be under 20,000 until we get the final word in april. I am praying for good news !!!!

I always thought that much under $20,000 was impossible, but I've also thought that a price much above $20,000 would hurt sales as well.

We'll just have to wait and see.

as i posted earlier, we'll just have to wait and see what US costs will be.

the US market, for hybrids, is more important to honda than is the Japanese market.
