Waxman to make life tougher for automakers?
Higher CAFE requirements coming? If I had to make a wager, I'd bet that a bailout for US automakers is inevitable, despite the recent hardball from Democrats. While that might irritate most, relax a little if your focus is fuel economy and global warming.
Now that Henry Waxman has replaced John Dingell as the leader of the Energy and Commerce panel, tougher CAFE and global warming requirements for automakers now seem inevitable. If Democrats hold to their guns, a bailout can be a good thing.
Labels: bailout, CAFE, Congress, fuel economy

Let's hope...but I doubt it...they'll just line his pockets like they do to anyone.
And anyone who doesn't take their bribe is quickly humiliated or liquidated.
I'd love to start a group of offline investigators who follow the external moves and activities of people who were involved in some of these scandals. Lewinski anyone? Clinton was stupid yes....but clearly setup IMO. We can only guess who did that to him...given Emmanuel's close to ties to it all.
Why fight for this position if you don't want to make change? Regardless, this is better than Dingell whom was completely owned by the old boy auto industry.

Nah, Noz, this time Detroit is not going to be able to line Waxman's pockets, because the good people of California already have! Besides Detroit's broke, so even if they tried, we can outbid them! Ha ha.
This one's for real, Noz, if for no other reason than Pelosi and Waxman are California liberals who know they would lose their seats in a heartbeat if they sell out at this critical moment. Trust me, the Waxman's and the Pelosi's have MUCH MORE to gain politically, they have much more incentive, than not, to deliver green policies over the next two years. If they don't, Californians will revolt.
