Prius hating violence increasing

How pathetic

Arson. Hammers and rocks. These are just some of the tools that some psychotic Toyota Prius haters are using to punish Prius drivers (more). Apparently, 45 mpg is just too offensive to some. Yes, a number of Prius drivers are elitist snobs, but there aren't nearly as many of them as there are elitist snobs driving luxury vehicles and house-sized SUVs.

Obviously, it's 45 mpg Prius drivers causing the all the problems in the world. If we all just acted like Prius hating morons the world would be so perfect.

Do you think it might have something to do with Americans loosing their jobs making SUV's to the Japanese? The Prius represents the current downfall of the U.S. auto industry.
Reminds me of the 80's, If you drove a Japanese car back then people would curse at you, spit on your windshield. I knew a lady who found a note on her Toyota that said an American just lost his job because she bought this car.
Back then Detroit could guilt you into buying an inferior car with the buy American slogan, today half of Detroit's cars and parts are made in other counties. Maybe they should move all their manufacturing back to the States? Win win situation.

Hi!

Toyota is building a factory in MS that will turn our the Prius starting in 2010.

So, get your American made Prius, soon.

Also, many "American" cars are assembled in Canada and Europe.

If you are made your vehicle burns too much gas, and the Prius doesn't, too bad. It's YOUR fault you didn't do any research and bought such a low-mileage vehicle in today's energy climate.

jeff-

that's definitely a factor.

yet, gm, for example, would probably already be bankrupt if not for foreign sales. hypocrisy? ignorance?

also funny how pro-American, gas-guzzling buyers feel no remorse for their foreign oil dependency, for the wars it has created, for the lives it has ruined. for the amazing transfer of wealth OUT of America is has created.

yet, somehow, those issues are irrelevant as long as they buy american made built with a significant percent of foreign-made parts.

they hit our cars, we should be hitting them over their heads for their utter ignorance.

And these same bastards are the ones complaining about liberal, green people setting light to their precious Hummers and SUVs with SUPPORT THE TROOPS stickers on them.

F'king hypocrites.

That's the US auto industry's fault. Not the Japanese. Besides, what are the Americans complaining about? These are the same folk that cry free market, democracy, and capitalism. Now that capitalism and free competition has stuck a pipe up their collective asses, they don't like it.

I have a tiny violin I shall break out for them now.

Some dumbass up my street has a Jeep Cherokee that has collected dust it's been out there so long. It has a bumper sticker on it that says...

"OUT OF A JOB??? EAT YOUR IMPORT."

Yeah well...I guess if that POS Jeep wasn't draining his wallet for fuel due to it being such an inefficient barge, he'd not feel so bitter.

aybe they should move all their manufacturing back to the States? Win win situation.

I think they make alot of parts here already. They can blame no one but themselves.

The main point I was trying to get across was that the vandals were more likely haters of foreign cars than they were of good gas mileage as stated in the article.

Jeff-

Obviously fuel economy or the environment has to be a piece of this otherwise why would the attacks only be upon the Prius, rather than just all foreign cars? It's not as if the Prius is outselling the Camry for instance.

Ok, let me rephrase:

The main point I was trying to get across was that the vandals were more likely people who lost or blame a lost domestic auto related job on the Prius. The Prius has led the charge against the U.S. auto industry where hundreds of thousands of people have lost their jobs. I just think for someone to do something so drastic there would need to be more of a reason than elitist snobbery. You get plenty of that with other cars that don't get vandalized and if it's about mileage I would expect more Mini's and Smart cars destroyed.

Thousands of pissed off people asking why they lost their jobs? I bet the majority of the vandalized Prius are located in Michigan, Ohio and Illinois. Could be wrong but seems logical.

most of the vandalism that i have heard of is in California where few have lost auto jobs because of the prius.

this picture was shot in LA. a number of other prius incidents have taken place in Northern California.
