Chrysler to update dealers on plug-ins

The Dodge Zeo - One of three plug-in concepts Chrysler showed in Detroit

Next week, according to reports, Chrysler will provide dealers with "insight into business strategies" for the future that includes Chrysler's next generation plug-in hybrid vehicles. No further details are available.

While interesting, it seems hard to believe that Chrysler could be anywhere close to where GM is today with such electric vehicles, which means many more years for Chrysler to even catch up to GM.

Chrysler's only recourse will be to license the technology...which would be a smart thing to do...either from GM or from Honda or Toyota.

It would be a good thing to do IMO because it would allow Chrysler to produce new cars that are efficient and reliable...for a change.

Nissan did it with the Altima hybrid.

I thought this was good news, as I think the more PHEV makers, the better.

Actually, I suppose Chrysler could swing this if they can assemble all the pieces parts from other vendors. Pick a battery supplier and choose the motor, controllers, etc. Then decide if it will be a serial hybrid like the Volt or parallel like the Prius.

I wish them luck!

there's been whispers of chrysler licensing GM technology. thus far, however, it seems they are working on proprietary technology.

hopefully we'll find out more this coming week.

Hi! In this article, you said that hybrids are really good. For example, the range is limited. Also, and nick said, bio-diesel may be more efficient. Please consider other cars. Still, I think your blog is good and I like the way you write! :-)
