Hybrid rationale: Oil-rich Arabs to buy Hummer?
Where gas guzzling is freeSince, according to Boone Pickens, the famous oil man, America's foreign oil dependency has led to one of the greatest transfers of wealth in world history, a few Gulf Arabs are interested in buying the most iconic gas-guzzling brand, Hummer. Ohhh, the irony.
And yet people that drive hybrid cars are the foolish ones, but sending the Gulf all our money and subsidizing their gas at our expense isn't a problem?

You're missing something Dahc...they do this because there's money to be made.
What we need to accept once and for all is that they don't give a shit about us or anyone else (i.e. the American business people who are doing this I mean).
They simply don't care. They are lining their own pockets while selling this place down the drain. They will stop at nothing, stop for no one, and couldn't care less about the future, their kid's future, the environment's future.
Once we fully appreciate and accept that, things suddenly begin to become crystal clear.
Otherwise we'll continue to discuss such issues and scratch our heads as to why anyone would do such a thing.
I don't disagree, its all about money, but that's why I make such a post. people need to ask, what does their gas guzzling accomplish. sure we have freedom of choice, but it certainly isn't helping americans live more freely.
Well there's the trick...it's all about perceived freedom.
The public has absolutely no say in the...we think we do...but we don't.
Freedom of choice is perceived and within a set boundary.
I don't know who quoted this but it goes like this:
The best form of slavery is the one where you don't realize you are enslaved...
I can't agree more with the current way of life we have. It's a masterful system they have created.
In some ways, civilization is slavery. Still, there is no doubt that freedom to drive gas guzzlers has resulted in less financial freedom - what most americans care about most. The odd and interesting thing is that this isn't forced slavery, it's self-created slavery. Certainly corporations enable us to enslave ourselves, but we do so willingly.
