JD Power: Prius 2nd Best Compact Car

Civic, not the hybrid one, is the best compact car

According to JD Power's Initial Quality Study, which focuses on defects, malfunctions, and quality of design surveyed after the first 90 days of ownership, the Honda Civic is the Best Compact Car. The Toyota Prius was the second best compact car.

There is no doubt that the Honda Civic is a fantastic car, but I can almost imagine that as more begin to convert to hybrid cars, especially ones like the Prius, which takes a bit of driver-reeducation, hybrids like the Prius might be a touch 'confusing'. Also, most hybrid drivers learn how to better hypermile as time goes on.

Well I disagree I don't consider the Prius a compact car. But if you want to classify it as compact my vote would be for the Prius as the best.
If you drive a hybrid like you drive a non-hybrid your gas mileage will suffer. After about 4 months you learn how to drive to get the best mileage. I started out around 46 and now I am up to 52. Waiting for the next generation of Prius!
