Does the Big 3 matter to America?
American owned, but not American made?It was obvious that when the Toyota Prius first began to gain America's attention, many were against the hybrid because it was a Japanese car. Now, of course, most of those hybrid critics are now fans of current and future 'American' hybrid cars. But, now that US automakers are realizing that SUVs and large vehicles are dead, and switching to fuel efficient vehicles, many more of these new, efficient vehicles will almost certainly be built outside the US.
If US automakers start making great hybrids and other fuel efficient vehicles, will it matter as much if the majority are built outside of the US?

Of course the big 3 matters. We need those auto jobs, but it is scary to realize that GM will have no choice but to start making far more autos in places like China and Mexico.
America needs to wake up.
