Chrysler: The world not hybrids?

GM's Ford?

Alright, that's a low blow, I admit it. Still, Ford has this great Escape hybrid, and after a few years on the market, Ford still hasn't figured out how to allocate more batteries?

Anyway, so I watched the Bob Nardelli interview on CNBC a few minutes ago, and I was shocked that Nardelli made no mention of future products, especially hybrid vehicles. Instead, Nardelli focused on China, South America and how an appreciating real estate market might kick start truck sales.

In 2010, things will be better for Chrysler, according to Nardelli, but it was hard to know if that was because of new, fuel efficient Chrysler vehicles, or an uptick in the US real estate market. Not the vision I was hoping for from Nardelli.

As GM is finding out, huge hybrid suvs don't have much of a future. When is a US automaker going to come out with a full hybrid car?

Ford is supposed to next year. Of course, they'll probably only be able to sell 25,000 of them forever.
