Chrysler set to launch first hybrids - who cares?
Does this sell with $4.00+ gas?In August, Chysler will begin selling both the Dodge Durango hybrid and the Chrysler Aspen hybrid, for about $5000 less than GM's similar hybrid vehicles, such as the GMC Yukon hybrid. Thus, the Durango hybrid will debut at $45,340, and the Aspen hybrid at $45,570 (DetroitNews).
This month, however, GM has reduced the prices of its full-sized hybrid vehicles, and it seems possible that Chrysler's pricing will force GM to keep those reduced prices.
Still, with today's high gas prices, can hybrid technology save large SUVs?

What a complete, utter waste of raw materials, resources, and energy.
Dodge/Chrysler..just DIE already.
The people who work there then can maybe...JUST MAYBE...find work in alternative energy, renewable energy, clean energy jobs. God forbid.
you don't have a big camper you'd like to pull back and forth to vancouver? just kidding.
Chrysler, with a few exceptions, makes lousy cars. If you don't believe me, just try reading some auto reviews.
Those car are way too ugly for hybrid technology to save them.

Tell you what, Chrysler, build a very small turbine power-plant to charge batteries and try that. As I recall, your turbine got high mileage but was pulled against the wishes of the people. Just design a tiny turbine to power generators and charge the batteries as needed on the road. Imagine a tiny turbine spinning about 5-7 generators, you get the picture.
