Toyota loses hybrid patent appeal
Will it face a new price increase?"The U.S. Supreme Court let stand a $4.3 million award against Toyota Motor Corp. for using another company's patented technology in gasoline-electric hybrid vehicles, including the top-selling Prius, Bloomberg News reported today.
In addition to the amount awarded in the lawsuit, Toyota might also have to pay royalties on future hybrid cars, but that is dependent on an additional lawsuit.

Dealerships took orders on the new Prius with a deposit. There must have been thousands of orders. THEN Toyota increased the price as of May 7. The unwary buyer now has to pay the additional price, even on the car that was ordered. How long will the consumer let Toyota get away with manipulation of supply, demand and price?
That's not relevant to this topic.
Everything's relevant.
Listen, I understand that you are mad and it seems you have a bit of a legitimate complaint, but at least you could try to tie in your complaints into the current topic.
For example, you could say: I'm not surprised that Toyota lost on this patent appeal because their dealerships are liars, which proves corporate toyota isn't trustworthy - or something like that.
I love the Prius. Still, i've shopped many Toyota dealerships and many suck. Carsalespeople have bad reputations for a reason.
