1.8 million VW hybrids per year by 2015?
A lithium-powered Audi in 2010?VW and Sanyo will work together to produce lithium-ion batteries for hybrid cars, with the first hybrids coming around 2010. And, while only 10-20,000 hybrids will be produced per year to start, the partnership hopes to be making enough batteries to produce between 1.6 and 1.8 million hybrids per year. By 2015 the partnership believes the world will be producing more than 4 million hybrid vehicles per year.
