Toyota: Lithium-ion is not the future for hybrids?

Toyota plans decades into the future

According to the Automotive News, Toyota has plans beyond the lithium-ion technology that should power some of its hybrid vehicles around 2010. While tight-lipped Toyota isn't confirming any battery reports, there are rumors coming out of Japan that Toyota is already developing a new battery, possibly an air-zinc battery that could provide 50 miles of pure electricity per charge.
