Hybrid interest declining?

Not buzzworthy?

According to the latest surveys, prospective car buyers are less interested in new technologies, such as clean diesel and hybrid cars, even as gas prices have gone higher. Of course, with the economy tanking, consumers have less money to spend on an automobile, and most hybrids aren't exactly cheap.

Eventually, I'll bet hybrid interest picks back up, but until it does, it might be a great buying opportunity for those interested in hybrids today.

I'm going to be shopping for a new hybrid vehicle. I was thinking a used one, but I'm wondering if a sales slowdown will bring the price of a new Prius down?

Let me guess who did that survey. CNW Research Marketing? I wouldn't be surprise. Their finding such as Hummer being greener than Prius has been discredited. Their other survey suggested car buyers care more about the cup holder than MPG. Complete BS.

My latest post is on CNW, although I didn't question the results of the study because I didn't really care about the study, it just made me think of something else.

This study I was referring to came from Kelly Blue Book.

I hate diesels...I think they are the biggest gimmick running right now. The money wasted on transfering overall fleets from gasoline to diesel is an utter waste of time..hybrid or not.

I can't say I'm a big fan of diesel either. Sure the car might be more efficient, but converting oil to diesel is less efficient than converting oil to gasoline, so that counterbalances the efficiency of diesel to some extent. Also, in my neighborhood, diesel is a good bit more expensive than gasoline.
