Has foreign oil dependency finally caught up to America?

Time for an intervention?

With the economy tanking and the fed making some big rate cuts, the dollar is set to decline even further, which means oil prices are going to skyrocket even higher according to conventional thinking on Wall Street.

Likewise, we're going to spend more than a trillion in Iraq to protect our $1/2 trillion per year addiction to foreign oil. Whom, but a crackhead, could rationalize the costs of that kind of dependency? America is just one successful major oil refinery attack from $10.00 gas.

So, enjoy your $3.50 crack, America! It probably won't get much cheaper.

I agree that it is time for an intervention and part of that intervention should be the education of the American public on our monetary system. Our government asks the Fed for money and they oblige by creating funds out of thin air in exchange for T-bills or some other IOU. What people as a whole do not realize is that creating money out of nothing is the cause of inflation which further weakens the dollar and our subsequent buying power. SOOOO, every time our government spends money it doesn't have, we feel it in the form of inflationary tax. We have been taxed to death by these Federal Reserve tricks and we have control over it. No representation for this particular taxation.

I sincerely hope we are finally at a point in our history where the nation will finally put its foot down and just say no more. We want out of Iraq and the rest of the Middle East and we want to stop being oil slaves!

We haven't just been taxed to death subvertly, we're also sitting atop a huge debt that is out of control.

Unfortunately, while I have a little hope people are ready to change, I thnk most people are only going to change when they are forced to change.

This government and the Fed will do anything to keep themselves afloat. the fact of the matter is they don't care about people in general, they care about their corporations.

When these assholes talk about the wealth of this country, they're not speaking of us, they're speaking about their companies...their businesses.

It's the retarded and backward-ass mentality of people here that has gotten them enslaved. Part religious freaks, part money hungry bastards, people here no nothing else but "ME" and "EASY".

If you're waiting for people to change here, you'll be waiting for a while. Honestly? You'll be better off moving to another country and enjoying the rest of your life somewhere else. That's my personal opinion and also a personal goal of mine.

I saw on the news the other day (and I rarely, rarely watch the regular braindead news) and they were interviewing idiots with their SUV's while filling up. They asked this douchebag if he'd give up his SUV since the prices have shot up..."No way....I love this thing...I feel I can see everything around me."

And there is your answer to the future. While I see more smaller cars around these days, I see no fewer SUV's as of yet. Honestly, I hope fuel prices rocket to about $10 a gallon here. We need it...because as they say....things need to get much worse before they get better.

It'll act as a filter to clear out all the scum.

I agree with all of your observations although I like the US and do not wanna leave! I believe I would more inclined to join the militia and toss out everyone in DC so that we can start over!

I am sure that will never happen either...

I'll join that militia. If we just voted out ALL the incumbents, how much worse could it really get?

Government has to decide the way by the help of people's vote and opinion of ministry . Oil slavery is a point; but it has no clear cut solution . It seems that a part of public is not in favor of all this .
