BMW has high hopes for efficiency

Survival means hybrids and other clean technologies?

Next year BMW plans to begin selling its first hybrid vehicle under its EfficientDynamics program. Down-sized engines, start-stop technology, regenerative braking, higher roll resistance tires and hybrid technology help the EfficientDynamics program, well, become more efficient. "With EfficentDynamics, we have created a clear competitive advantage for ourselves," Stefan Krause, BMW's head of sales and marketing said in a statement recently.

Hopefully, this is a sign of the things to come from BMW and we'll see a bunch of BMW hybrid vehicles on the road soon.

What a crock from BMW...and it's no wonder it flies...just look at BMW owners.

The NUMBER ONE thing BMW can do to increase efficiency is to LIGHTEN its cars and DOWNSIZE them...THEY ALL need to do that...not just BMW.

Look at the BMW range...ludicrously heavy cars for their size...no excuse other than poor engineering. Of course, they'll cry until their faces turn blue to argue otherwise.

But for the prices they charge for their cars......please...their chassis and frame designs can easily shed 400-500lbs of weight.

More people should learn about electric vehicles as a solution. "Zero emissions" is something that's going to be required by law one day (you know it will). Making the decision to go electric is far cheaper anyway, like 10 cents on the dollar vs. gas. (source: zapworld.com)
