Will greens ever accept a Hummer?
A small, biofueled HummerCompared to some of the large SUVs on the market today, the Biofueled Hummer Concept that GM displayed at NAIAS is relatively small. Add in its biofuel-capable V6 powertrain and some might dare to call it a green Hummer.
I'm not sure that I can go that far just yet. However, if it were a biofueled hybrid Hummer, I might give it a second chance.

Eventually, all types of vehicles should take advantage of the hybrid concept of recapturing wasted energy (momentum transferred to friction-heat in the braking system). Whether its to batteries for electric motors or hydraulics, or whatever. It just makes sense.
The problem with Hummers and green angst is that they are completely wasteful on urban highways. A hybrid SUV used by the forestry serve, fine. Used by Dad to commute solo in the city? PLEASE!
