CVPS plug 'n go(TM) program for plug-in hybrids

Sign up now for reduced electricity rates

Central Vermont Public Service has just started a new service for the drivers of plug-in hybrid vehicles.

"CVPS plug 'n go(TM) allows customers to sign up for an off-peak electric rate that can substantially reduce per-mile driving costs. PHEVs, like normal HEVs, can operate on a combination of gas and electricity, but can be driven exclusively on electricity at low city driving speeds for up to 30 miles."

According to CVPS, converting one of today's 60 mpg hybrid vehicles to a plug-in, results in 100 mpg plug-in hybrids - a fact also demonstrated by many other plug-in conversions. And CVPS wants to reward those making such conversions with cheaper electricity.
