May 15 Gasout? Boycott Chevron? Stop playing and get real!
Boycott Chevron? Join the gas out May 15?KROQ radio in Los Angeles covered the Great American Gas Boycott or May 15 Gas Out with John Schoen, whom researched this issue for MSNBC, this morning. Conclusion: It's complete nonsense. Of course, most of us already knew this. So, stop sending us the e-mail!
Mad about gas prices? Boycott your gas-guzzler! Stop trying to blame everyone else and take some damned responsibility. Use less gas regularly, not just for one day. PERIOD.
YOU have to change if you want the world to change. Carpool once a week, or take public transportation. Ride a bike. Walk to the store. Buy a more fuel efficient automobile, especially a hybrid car!
Stop the boycott nonsense, especially the e-mails, unless you are willing to boycott the use of any gasoline for at least a month, please!

I don’t know which looks worse in this game: Our collective understanding of the environment, or our collective understanding of finance. How is it that people think buying the same amount of fuel in the same accounting cycle will affect the price of anything or reduce emissions? Fossil fuel conglomerates are among the largest corporations in the world. They feel more pressure from a few days of unfavorable weather than from some ill-conceived internet boycott.
If people want to save on fuel, they should save on fuel. If a person buys less gas, he or she spends less on gas. The arithmetic doesn’t get any simpler than that.

It's just so American, isn't it? Should we really be surprised that our Fast Food Culture has evolved (devolved) to such a predicament?
Hate to tell ya this but this year Gas Out is moving from urban legend and becoming a real grassroots movement.
Seems to me many are tryiny to discourage people from joining in by NOT buying gas TUESDAY MAY 15th.
