The Honda Civic hybrid recalled

More than 45,000 Honda Civic hybrids are being recalled to fix a voltage converter defect. If the problem is not fixed, the voltage converter could cause a short circuit that might stop the engine and prevent the engine from being restarted. According to Honda, there have not been any reported accidents or injuries due to the defect. Civic hybrid owners will be contacted by mail regarding this problem so that their vehicles can be repaired.

Dear Honda, you make a quality vehicle, but when it comes to the Hybrid Technology, I just don't think you're really making much of an effort. Don't get me wrong, Honda's are very good cars, but your Hybrid's are not up to the quality and innovation standards you've always followed. Example, You don't even make a "Full Hybrid", The Hybrids You're making now are Stop/Start Hybrids with minimal fuel saving benefits and unable to drive in "Electric Only" mode in city driving(Such that a full hybrid can do ei the Toyota Prius Hybrid). Why? Suggestion, Build a "Full Hybrid", and build it from the Ground Up to be a Hybrid, Like the Toyota Prius, Make it a Plug-In Optional Hybrid, giving consumers the choice of plugging in at home and charging up. This will put you back in the game. Good-Luck.

Yes, I think that Honda should definitely explore the plug-in hybrid. I currently drive a Civic Hybrid, but I'm thinking of purchasing the Prius in 2009. Part of the reason is space. I have three dogs that I tote around quite a bit. I like the way the Prius back seats fold down for more space. Other than that, I'm happy with my car even though it gets slightly less mpg than the Prius. I think Honda should think about reviving their station wagon for those of us who need space but will not resort to purchasing an SUV. The perfect car for me would be a plug-in station wagon hybrid!

Dear Honda, I bought the car with the idea that Honda has high quality standards. I have made every recommended maintenance scheduled and oil change. But what is up with the transmission. The problem is not just my car I have a friend who just after 100,000 miles has had to replace the transmission. Now that I am over 100,000 miles my transmission is jerking. I have done every repair Honda has requiered ie:computer chip, catalitic converter, transmission clutch box and still no resolution. The car runs rougher than before. You need to fix the problem and at least do a recall on the transmission which seems to have been the problem the entire time but was never changed while I was under warranty. Continuous Service Engine Light is on this time after only 665 miles after servicing.
