Mazda Tribute hybrid built on new hybrid technology?
So, does this mean the Mazda Tribute hybrid will not be released as planned? Originally, the hybrid Tribute was to built upon the Ford Escape hybrid platform. At one time Ford almost squashed the Tribute hybrid project, but later re-confirmed their plans to build the hybrid. So, I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Yes, what about a throttle-less Tribute hybrid using an eCVT supercharger to "meter" the airflow into the intake manifold?
An engine drive belt driving one input to the SuperCharger's eCVT and an AC synchronous motor with a variable frequency AC drive, power from the hybrid battery the other eCVT input.
Gas pedal would simply control the frequency/phase/direction of the SC's eCVT low power AC motor drive voltage.
Miller Cycle instead of the Atkinson Cycle.
