as soon as toyota realeases its third generation toyota prius with plug in technology the development of fuel cells wont be far off. general motors has developed hydrogen busses and currently sells them to government municipalities. if ford made a hybrid crown victoria it would make millions upon millions of dollars by selling the new vehicles to tons of police departments all over north america. and will also save the nation alot of pollution and gasoline caused by idling engines of police vehicles. hybrid development is a win win situation plug in hybrid are a reality and should be coming out in 2008/2009. i dont however believe biodiesel or ethanol is a viable solution now or anytime for our nations energy needs, i believe hydrogen in conjuction with hybrid technology, or purely electric cars will be the future vehicle.
