Malayasia plans to develop hybrid cars
To fight high gas prices, the Prime Minister of Malaysia has announced a plan to develop a line of hybrid cars. "Under the 9th Malaysia Plan, the Government has outlined the need to encourage the use and development of sustainable and renewable energy resources", the Malaysian newspaper The Star reported. The hybrid in question will be assembled locally by Johor-based LM Star Autoworld Sdn Bhd and offer 50 percent fuel savings with a new technology called hydroxene, The Star wrote. (AutoblogGreen)

it isnt unexpected that more and more countries will join in the hybrid race. the competition is good it will create new jobs and possibly create better hybrid systems. i strongly support toyota and honda being forerunners in fuel efficiency and hybrid programs. all autocompanies should take responsibility and adapt to the technology that toyota is using. as any automaker see there is a huge market and potential to expand hybrid sales that are profitable at a time when SUV and other car sales are faltering. automakers must abandon the way they used to do business and change to conform to consumer tastes and a changing business environment
