Re: Snow details tax breaks for hybrid cars
Were the hybrid vehicle tax credits designed to benefit domestic automakers?"Development and use of hybrid vehicles is a key step toward reducing gasoline consumption, emissions of air pollutants and greenhouse gas emissions," U.S. Treasury Secretary John Snow, said in a statement earlier today.
According to Reuters, Detroit was picked for this announcement because Mr. Snow "is aiming to boost the ailing domestic auto industry and encourage conservation, " with the "tax breaks for people who buy gasoline-electric vehicles."
Was it right to cap the hybrid car tax credit by manufacturer?
