Ford not interested in hybrid trucks?

How can Ford not focus on hybrid trucks? Isn't the truck really Ford's core brand. This is the one area that Ford cannot allow Japan to dominate. Hopefully Ford will reconsider its position on hybrid trucks.Ford's green push into hybrid cars is not going to include F-Series trucks according to the Detroit News. Already Ford offers the Escape hybrid and a few Mariner hybrids, but hybrid SUVS are the easiest hybrids to find.

Toyota offers the Lexus RX400h and the Highlander hybrid.

While I am happy that Ford is also going to focus its hybrid efforts on sedans and other cars, why not trucks? Giving that product segment to Toyota seems to be the dumbest move Ford could make.

who cares if you are going to buy a truck buy a real truck. If you want a hybrid buy a little ass prias or whatever it is. the two dont mix. besides i don't know why everybodies got there panties in a knot gas is kinda expensive but with inflation since 1990 we should be paying like 7 dollars a gallon. and if your worried about the envoirment then you listen to much to the liberal media. The earth has naturally warmed and cooled itself throughout time. So tree huggers quit wineing!!!

I have been a long time ford enthusiast and owner and I think ford needs to step up the game and sell there 41 mph hybrid truck and keep adding more to the hybrid truck area. They could dominate the competition and make alot of money at doing it plus cleaning up the environment. People could drive around town to get groceries or home depot and use electricity for short trips. Duh! you winers about real trucks, a real truck would get a job done while being able to putt around town and save gas. It is almost 2010 and america needs to catch up and lead the world. You punks need to shut up because we could have a powerful ecoboost hybrid truck and then add a little hydrogen cell. The truck would probly see 50 miles to the gallon after tuning and highway driving. It's time for ford to represent damn it! I need a real truck to buy and invest in something real. Not some crappy 22 mph old tech junk that's hooked into to middle east kings pockets. Drill here, Drill now, Pay less!!!!! hybrid truck yessssssss get 'er done.
