Prius, hybrid car, shopping tidbits

During my Toyota Prius shopping this weekend, I also inquired about the Highlander hybrid. Mum, was the word. "They are not telling us anything yet about the Highlander hybrid," I was told by two different salesmen at two different lots.

"Everything is going to be a hybrid soon," one salesman also told me. Granted, Toyota is very bullish on hybrids, but I've been surprised by the attitude of car salesmen when it comes to hybrids. Even Ford reps have told me the same. Perhaps they only say that to customers who drive the Escape hybrid?

Regardless, just a year ago hybrids were not even part of the discussion at most dealerships, just a year later, hybrid cars have buzzed into the mainstream.
